Description
31 and 32 High Street is a pair of cottages that may have originally been a single house, dating from the 18th century or possibly earlier, likely from the 16th or 17th century. The cottages have solid rendered walls, probably made of stone or cob, and feature a slate roof with a red-brick chimney positioned to the left of the ridge. The building is two storeys high and has an irregular arrangement of four windows.
In the center of the ground floor, there is a passage entrance that serves both cottages. To the left, there is a separate door leading to No 30, which has a moulded cornice-hood supported by plain brackets. Further left, there is a canted bay window with a moulded cornice and plain sashes. To the right of the entrance, there is a two-light window with six-paned sashes that have horns. Continuing to the right, there is a small canted bay window with a moulded cornice, featuring three sashes: three over six panes in the center and one over two panes on the outside. The upper-storey windows have sashes with horns, with margin panes at No 31 and three panes in a row at No 32. The interior has not been inspected.
