Description

Teign View and the adjoining cottage are a pair of cottages built in 1720, as noted by Mrs. P. Whiteaway, co-author of the parish history. They are constructed of roughcast, likely a mix of cob and stone, and feature a thatched roof that is gabled at the right end and hipped at the left end. The right end has a stack, and there is a rear left lateral stack. The cottages have a single depth plan with two entrances on the front, suggesting they are probably two rooms wide. The exterior is two storeys high and presents an asymmetrical front with four windows, which includes two 20th-century porches. The windows consist of a mix of two-light, three-light, and one-light casements with glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected but may hold interest. The date of construction is sourced from Extracts from Haccombe Deeds in the Devon Record Office.
