Description
WINKLEIGH SS 61 SW 6/127 Cock's Bridge Cottages II Pair of cottages. Circa early C18 with C19 additions. Rendered cob walls. Thatch roof hipped to left gabled to right end. 2 brick stacks - one axial and one at right gable end. Plan: pair of 2-room cottages of which the left-hand one has an axial stack between its 2 rooms and the right-hand one has its end room heated by a gable-end fireplace. Each has had a C19 outshut built at its end. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 5-window front of early to mid C20 2-light casements, 3 windows to the right-hand cottage. Towards the left-hand end and to right of centre each cottage has an early C20 gabled porch with decorative finials and a C20 plank door behind. Lean-to built against each end wall. Interior: exhibits no early features on the ground floor although some may have been concealed.
