Description

DOLTON

SS 51 SE 5/43

Outbuilding immediately to south east of Cherubeer Manor

GV II

Outbuilding - reputedly a former forge but this is unlikely to be original use. Uncertain date ; possibly C18. Cob and rubble walls. Gable-ended slate roof. Plan: small rectangular 1-room plan. Exterior: 1 storey. Asymmetrical front with a 2-centred arched chamfered medieval door frame to left which has almost certainly been re-used from the manor house (q.v). Extending to the right of the building as far as the road is a traditional cob and tiled wall.
