Description
Honeysuckle Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage located in Chapel Street, Dolton. The walls are of plastered cob, and the roof is thatched, with a gable-ended profile. A projecting rubble stack, plastered, is situated at the left gable, featuring a brick shaft. The cottage follows a two-room plan; entry is directly into the larger, heated room on the left, with a smaller service room to the right. The exterior of the cottage is two storeys high, with a regular two-window arrangement featuring early 20th-century two-light casement windows set in small openings. A central, early 20th-century plank front door provides access. Internally, a fireplace has been blocked, but a substantial wooden lintel remains visible. The ceiling contains rough, insubstantial wooden beams.
