Description

Pear Tree Cottage, which includes the east end of The Old Forge to the west, was originally one house but is now two cottages. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with a 20th-century addition. The building has rendered cob and rubble walls and a thatched roof that is gabled on the right side and hipped on the left end. There are brick stacks, one axial and one at the right gable end.

The structure is two storeys high with an asymmetrical front that has three windows arranged in a 1:2 pattern. The Old Forge features a late 20th-century two-light casement window, while Pear Tree Cottage has a regular front with early 20th-century four-pane sash windows. There is a central 20th-century glazed porch with a door. The interior does not display any early features, but some may be hidden.
