Description
Pear Tree Cottage and the attached outbuilding, formerly listed as a stable, are likely from the early 19th century and were converted around 1980. The buildings are constructed of rubble magnesian limestone with stone slate eaves courses beneath a 20th-century pantile roof. Pear Tree Cottage is two storeys high and features three windows on the first floor. The one-storey outbuilding on the right has a total of four doors and two windows.
The cottage has a 20th-century panelled door located beneath old external stone steps that rise from the left. To the left of the steps, there is a two-light casement window and a French window set beneath segmental stone arches, with another French window to the right of the steps. On the first floor, there is a French window leading to the landing, flanked by two-light casements that have 20th-century stone sills and segmental arches. The cottage also has two rebuilt ridge stacks.
In the outbuilding, the first bay aligns with the house and features another French window. Set back on the right side are two infilled round brick arches with their central pier removed, along with two doorways beneath. On the left, there is a window in the position of a bricked-up doorway, and on the right, there is a slatted casement window with a small door beyond. Part of the outbuildings is used by Vine Cottage. The buildings are included for their group value.
