Description
Chubb Cottages is a pair of cottages dating from the early 18th century. They have rendered cob walls and a gable-ended thatch roof, along with two rendered brick gable-end stacks. Each cottage features a two-room layout, with the end room of each heated by a gable-end fireplace. The cottages are two storeys high and have a symmetrical two-window front, each with 20th-century two-light casements. There is a central gabled 20th-century porch that contains a late 19th or early 20th-century plank door. The interior of the right-hand cottage was inspected and shows significant alterations from the late 20th century, but it retains an old timber fireplace lintel, a ceiling beam, and possibly original roof timbers.
