Description

WINKLEIGH VINE STREET (north side), SS 6308 + SS 6207-6307 Winkleigh 11 and 12/190 Clover Cottage, Honey Cottage, and Vinecroft GV II

Row of 3 cottages. Circa early C18 with C19 additions. Rendered cob and rubble walls. Gable-ended thatch roof. Brick stack at each end. Plan: each cottage 1-room plan with C19 and possibly C20 rear additions, Vinecroft is smaller than the other two. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2:2:2 window front all of circa mid C20 3-light casements. Clover Cottage and Honey Cottage to left and centre also have C20 single light casements on the ground floor. Clover Cottage has a C20 rustic timber porch with plank door behind. Honey Cottage has lean-to open-fronted porch with C20 glazed door behind and Vinecroft to the right has small gabled open-fronted C20 porch with panelled and glazed door behind. Interiors: inaccessible at time of survey.
