Description
The County Primary School, built in 1876, features roughly coursed rubble walls and a gable-ended slate roof. The building is designed in the Gothic Early English Style and is a single storey structure. The front range is originally divided into three sections, with a symmetrical three-bay front that includes a large central gable. This gable has a tall three-light ogee-headed window, while the two outer bays each contain a pair of smaller similar windows. Between the windows are buttresses. At the gable-end wing behind each end, there are four-light windows along with small gabled porches that project outward. A stone belfry is located at the right gable-end. There are 20th-century additions at the left-hand end. The interior has not been inspected. The school was established as a mixed Board School, as noted in Kelly's Directory from 1902.
