Description
Stagsden Voluntary Primary School is a school building dating from around 1860, designed in the Gothic style. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and features a steeply pitched plain tile roof with a parapet. The building has gable ends adorned with moulded kneelers and a finial. It consists of one storey and an attic, arranged in a T plan. The central projecting gabled wing includes groups of three lancet windows with shouldered heads. The right-hand wing features an arcaded timber loggia with a gabled dormer above and a half-hipped gable. On the left side, there are two large stone chimney stacks with set-offs on the side walls of the wings, and the gable end has two tiers of 5-light lancets. At the center, there is a timber belfry topped with an octagonal spire.
