Description

St Mary's School, built around 1868, is a single-storey building designed in the Gothic style. It features an irregular frontage with one gabled window facing the street and three windows on the return of the main schoolroom. The roof is modern and tiled, topped with a bell turret on the gable wall at the east end. The structure is constructed from random flint rubble, accented with red brick dressings and bands, and includes tumbled brick panels on the gable wall. The gable window has three lights with an arched, traceried head and a drip mould. Above this window, there is a stone plaque inscribed with "St Mary's School 1868." The entrance is located in a one-storey extension.
