Description

No. 38 St Mary's Street is an 18th-century building that was originally two cottages. It stands two storeys high and features three windows. The roof is slated, and while it was formerly timber-framed, the front and upper rear have been refaced in red brick with a roughcast finish. The windows are flush framed casements, some of which have glazing bars. There is a square-headed doorway with an architrave and a bracketed hood above it. This building is included for its group value, as it forms part of a group with Nos. 36 to 44 (even) and No. 48.
