Description
Tudor House, formerly listed as Rectory, is a 16th-century building located on St Mary's Street in Eynesbury. It features a hall and a south cross wing, with a north cross wing that was rebuilt in the late 17th century. The house has extensive 19th-century additions and alterations. The structure includes gabled cross wings that are two storeys high, along with a lower central block that is one storey with gabled attics. The building is timber-framed and rough-cast.
The 19th-century alterations to the main facade include carved barge boards and finials on the gables, as well as false exposed framing. The windows consist of flush framed sash and casement styles with exposed boxing and glazing bars, and there is a splayed bay window on the right. A 19th-century gabled porch features an architraved doorway. Inside, there is notable panelling dating from around 1750 and other significant features.
