Description

A pair of houses dating to the late 18th and early 19th century, located on Wolborough Street, Newton Abbot. The houses are constructed of painted stucco, with a slate-hung right return and a slate roof topped by a central brick ridge stack. They follow a double-depth plan.

The exterior presents a symmetrical two-window facade over three storeys. A modillion eaves cornice runs along the top. Early 19th-century windows with 8/8 sashes are present, those on the second floor aligned with the eaves. Cornices on consoles support the door surrounds of the outer ranges. The door to number 69, on the left, is a 19th-century design with four panels and a 2-pane overlight, while the door to number 70, on the right, is a 20th-century replacement featuring incised stucco to the lower courses. The interior was not inspected.
