Description
This is a house located at 65 Wolborough Street in Newton Abbot, dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It features painted roughcast, likely over cob, and a slate roof with a raking dormer and a tall rendered stack at the rear. The building has a double-depth plan with a rear left wing.
The exterior is two storeys high with a two-window range. On the first floor to the right, there is a sash window with a thin forward frame and 4/8 panes. Below it, the ground floor has a similar frame with late 19th-century two-pane sashes. To the left on the first floor, there is a smaller casement window with three lights, each containing 4 panes. On the ground floor to the left, there is a set-back six-panel door that is glazed at the top with beaded panels below, and a 6/6-pane sash window in the centre. The building is set forward from No. 67 to the right, and the projecting corner features a small iron door on the front of the return, which may have been an inspection panel for a former corner stack. The interior has not been inspected.
