Description

Bushel House is a house likely dating from the 18th century, although it may incorporate an earlier building. It is constructed from limestone rubble with a steeply-pitched slate roof featuring paired brackets to the wide eaves. The roof also has two hipped dormers with 2-light casement windows, and a rendered stack to the right. The house has a 2-unit plan with a long rear wing.

The exterior presents two storeys with an attic, and originally had a 2-window front. There are 8/8-pane sash windows set in concrete surrounds, all under a continuous timber lintel course. A 6-panel door is located to the right. The window arrangement and stone jointing, together with the timber course, suggest the windows are later insertions and the house was formerly rendered. A set-back 19th-century six-panel door with raised panel moulding is on the right.

The interior was not inspected.

The forecourt is paved with Devon limestone slabs.
