Description
Two farm buildings, likely built in the early 19th century, are located immediately north of Higher Rocombe Farmhouse. Constructed from stone rubble with brick dressings, the west range features a hipped slate roof, while the adjoining south range has a gabled slate roof. The buildings are arranged in an L shape, creating a small yard next to the farmhouse.
The west range is particularly attractive, with a loft and four ground floor doorways that alternate with windows, all featuring depressed 2-centred arched heads made of brick. There is a matching loft door in the center, flanked by loft windows. The south range is single storey and symmetrical, with doors on either side that also have depressed 2-centred arched heads with cut stone dressings, and a window in the middle. The south range includes a 19th-century plank door with strap hinges. The interior has not been inspected. These buildings hold group value with Higher Rocombe Farmhouse.
