Description

This group of farm buildings, located 60 metres north of Cowbyers Farmhouse, dates back to the early 19th century. They are constructed from roughly-coursed stone and feature tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings, topped with stone slate roofs. The buildings are arranged around a yard that is open to the south.

The west range includes a boarded door and a stable door set in irregular-block surrounds, along with a lower blocked door to the left. The gabled left return has a boarded pitching door in a stone surround, situated above the roof of a 20th-century extension. The north range consists of shelter sheds that feature two pairs of segmental-headed arches. The east range has two boarded doors in irregular-block surrounds, while the lower section to the right contains pigsties with a henhouse above. The gabled right return displays twin sty doors, each leading to an exercise yard enclosed by walls with rough arched coping. There are steps that are corbelled out from the wall dividing the yards, leading up to a boarded door with a small window on the left. Additionally, there is a pigeon hole and alighting ledge in the gable.
