Description

This barn, located approximately 30 metres north-east of Whitefield Barton, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed and dressed stone blocks, with cob in the upper part leading to the loft. The right side has been rebuilt using breeze blocks. The barn features a pantiled roof with gable ends and a gable ventilator slot. A central double wooden door provides access. At the rear, there is a horse-engine house with stone infill in the panels. While the principal timbers remain, the trenched purlins and rafters have been replaced. The barn is included for its group value.
