Description

This barn, located to the east of Barford Park Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of English bond brick with some flint and features a tiled roof with coped verges. The barn consists of six bays and has north and south aisles. On the south side, there are two hipped porches, each with 20th-century double doors, and a planked stable door to the left. The north side has one hipped porch and one blocked gabled porch, with a planked stable door to the right, opposite the one on the south. The gables feature rectangular pitching doors. Inside, a flint and brick wall divides the barn into two equal halves. The roof structure includes tie-beam trusses with raking struts to the principals, and straight windbracing to the purlins and aisle posts.
