Description
The granary located to the north of Barford Park Farmhouse dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and stands on staddlestones, topped with a half-hipped tiled roof. The structure features four bays. On the south side, there is a planked door with strap hinges and a segmental head, while a blocked door is found on the left return with a loft window above it. Another planked door is located on the north side. Inside, there is a loft at the west end only, separated by a planked partition, and the roof is lined with planking. The roof trusses include an interrupted tie-beam with vertical posts extending from the collar to the cross rail. It is possible that the granary was originally timber-framed and was rebuilt in brick during the 18th century.
