Description
The granary in the stable yard, now used as accommodation for volunteers of the National Trust, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a hipped tiled roof. The building is raised on semi-circular brick arches with stone imposts, having six arches on the main sides and four on the gable ends. The north gable end includes an inserted planked door with a top-opening casement above it, while the south gable end has a planked door along with double loading bay doors and a gable for the loft above. The sides of the granary are fitted with 2-light casements. A metal louvre vent is present on the roof, topped with a weathervane. Inside, there are two chamfered tie-beams supporting a three-bay roof, although the rest of the roof is concealed above an inserted ceiling. This granary is similar in design to the granary at Norton Ferris Manor Farm.
