Description
Barford Park Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the late 17th century, with an 18th-century addition and early 19th-century enlargement to the southwest. It is built in Flemish bond with vitrified headers and features a tiled hipped roof and brick stacks. The building has an L-plan layout.
The original front is two storeys high with three windows and includes a half-glazed door set in an eared surround with a pulvinated frieze. To either side of the door are tripartite sash windows and plate glass sashes. The first floor has a three-light sash window on the right and two 20th-century windows on the left, all with flat arched heads and keystones. The left part of the building features a moulded eaves cornice. The right return has a glazed door with sidelights and 12-pane sashes on the first floor.
The rear, which is now the main entrance front, is from the 18th-century build and has a door in a 20th-century porch to the right, with 12-pane and tripartite sash windows on the ground and first floors. Attached to this rear front is a single-storey kitchen range built in English bond brick, with a hipped tiled roof and 20th-century casement windows. Inside, the farmhouse has moulded ceiling cornices and classical-style fireplaces.
