Description
This barn, located north of Parsonage Farmhouse, dates from the 16th and 18th centuries. It features a timber frame resting on flint sills and is clad in weatherboarding. The south end was extended in the 18th century using English bond brickwork and has a tiled roof. The original structure consists of five bays, including a central cartway with doors that are now framed over. The extension, likely from the early 18th century, includes two narrower bays that create four stables, a feed store with a drop over, and a loose box in the first bay of the barn. A 19th-century lean-to store in brick has been added to the front. The roof is half hipped at the ends. Inside, the barn's trusses feature curved braces connecting jowled posts to cambered ties, with queen struts and collars supporting the upper purlin, and ties and struts for the lower purlins. The purlins are clasped, and the wall framing includes a bressumer and corner braces.
