Description

A 17th-century farmhouse with a mid-19th-century wing, forming a T-shaped layout. It was heavily restored in the mid-20th century. The farmhouse is constructed of rendered stone rubble with a cob-slate roof and gable ends. Originally, it likely comprised three rooms, with a blocked passage and an upper end that has been demolished. There is an off-centre brick stack and a stack at the lower gable end. The farmhouse has two storeys, and the window openings have been altered, featuring 20th-century casements. Rebuilding of the rear wall displays uneven wall surfaces. The interior has been largely altered; however, surviving plasterwork overmantel includes strapwork decoration, a Pegasus in a central roundel, and a cartouche dated 1679, initialled ILPL. Timber panelling is located below, and other panelling is reputedly in The Three Tuns, Barnstaple.
