Description
Shirwell Primary School is a school built in 1830, constructed from coursed shale stone and featuring a hipped slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan with a symmetrical facade. A central cusped doorway is topped by a 4-centred arch and a hood-mould, with leaf and shield carvings in the spandrels. Above the doorway is a plaque inscribed "CC1830" and a horizontal pivot window with glazing bars, also featuring a label hood-mould. On either side of the doorway, there are two large 20th-century segmental-arched window openings, each with three lights and horizontal-pivot windows with glazing bars. To the right, there is a 20th-century single-storey rendered extension.
