Description
The Old School House is a school building constructed in 1833, with additions made in 1896. It is built of coursed dressed stone and features a slate roof with raised ashlar coped gables and two gable stacks. The building is single storey and has a southeast front. There is a central gabled porch with a small fixed light, and to the left, a doorway with a plank door. Above the door is a small carved coat-of-arms. On either side of the porch, there are single wooden framed casements in chamfered surrounds, each with a Tudor hood mould above. To the right, there is a later addition that includes a similar single window. At the rear, there is a small outbuilding with a 20th-century pantile roof and coped gables, which is now directly linked to the main building and features a single three-light casement on its northwest front. Attached to the north corner is a small toilet block, also with an original pantile roof. Inside the school room, there is high dado panelling and a stone fireplace.
