Description

FARNDALE EAST MACKERIDGE LANE SE 69 NE 1463 - /4/10001 The Old School House II

School. 1833 with additions 1896. Coursed dressed stone. Slate roof with raised ashlar coped gables, and 2 gable stacks. Single storey. South east front. Central gabled porch with small fixed light, and on the left side a doorway with a plank door. Above a small carved coat-of-arms. Eitherside single wooden framed casements in chamfered surrounds with a Tudor hood mould over. To the right a later addition has a single similar window. To rear a small outbuilding with C20 pantile roof and coped gables, now directly linked to the main building, with a single 3 light casement on north west front. Attached at north corner a small toilet block also with original pantile roof. Interior of school room has high dado panelling, and a stone fireplace.
