Description

The Dell is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later 19th-century additions to both ends. The original section is rendered with a slate roof, presenting a symmetrical facade. The house has been extended irregularly to the left and right, and includes an outshut at the rear, facing the road.

The south-facing extension incorporates large, paired timber sash windows, each with plates, over a canted bay with plated side sashes and a French window. Brick stacks with square pedimented chimney pots mark the gable ends of the Gothick facade. This section features three square-headed, two-light timber casement windows, each with Gothick pointed arch glazing bars above three panes. Two larger, storey-height timber French windows, matching the above pattern, are positioned on either side of a slated porch, likely a later addition. This porch features a sundial and a half-glazed door with four panes and pointed arch glazing bars in the upper panes. A lean-to greenhouse with timber glazing bars and a brick stack is attached to the lower extension, alongside further Gothick timber windows consistent with the design above.

The interior includes Gothick doorcases and a pointed arched ceiling in a first-floor room at the west end.
