Description
Halcyon Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage constructed of whitewashed cob on a rubble plinth, topped with a hipped thatch roof featuring a temporarily superimposed thatch ridge. A modern brick stack is located at the right gable end. The cottage is two storeys high, with a single-storey extension to the right that has a pantiled roof.
On the ground floor, there is a single light casement to the left of two 2-light timber casements, which are positioned on either side of a 20th-century porch with a slate roof. The window to the right is equipped with external wooden shutters. Above, there is a four-window range, with a single 6-paned casement at each end and two 2-light timber casements in between—one with a 6-pane casement and the other with a 2-pane casement. The 6-pane timber casements may be early frames and glass. The porch is a prominent feature of the cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
