Description

WILLAND ST 01 SW 2/270 - Park Farmhouse - II Former farmhouse. Probably C15 or early C16, with later additions and alterations. Cob, some stone, pebbledashed with gabled-end slate roof. Formerly a 3-room, through-passage plan, with lower end to the right on the passage. External rear lateral stack heats hall; internal end stack heats lower end; both with brick shafts. 2-storeys. Front: 4-window range, all C20 casement windows; porch, slated (to passage) with conservatory to the left (fronting hall), with French windows. C19 and C20 extensions to rear. Interior: hall with 2 cross beams, and 2 half-beams, chamfered, the half-beams with step stops and bar; fireplace with large lintel, and a chamfered timber jamb; plank arid muntin screen to lower end of hall, chamfered with carpenter's mitres, with one chamfered doorway - arch jamb; lower end passage screen does not survive except for 1 doorway with shouldered arch; the screens are medieval, the bressumers above have been added when the first floor was inserted. Chamfered beam to passage with step stops and bar. Jointed cruck roof is understood to be smoke-blackened.
