Description
Thatch Cottage and Little Croft are two dwellings, dating to the 17th century with a 19th-century extension. The original cottage, Thatch Cottage, is constructed of plastered cob with some stone, while Little Croft is a later addition. The roof is half-hipped and thatched. Thatch Cottage stands forward of the extension. It is two storeys high. The front of Thatch Cottage features a large external side chimney with a tall brick shaft to the right. The windows are irregularly placed, with a two-light casement window to both the first and ground floors of each dwelling. Little Croft has a glazed front door. A glazed porch and a 19th-century casement window to both floors are located on the right-hand end of Thatch Cottage. The interior of Thatch Cottage reveals deeply chamfered spine beams with step stops, rough-hewn straight principals, and lapped purlins visible in the upper rooms. The roof space has not been inspected.
