Description

The cottages at 46 and 48 Fore Street, Silverton, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of roughcast cob with stone footings, and have a gabled-end slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high. The front elevation has a four-window range, featuring twelve-pane sash windows; these are horned at number 48 but unhorned at number 46. A door is located at number 48, sheltered by a tiled porch supported on shaped brackets. A 20th-century window sits above a door on the right-hand end. The building has one axial stack and two end stacks, all with brick shafts. The interior has not been inspected.
