Description
A group of three cottages dating from the early 19th century, located on the west side of Fore Street, Silverton. The cottages are built of plastered cob with stone footings, and have gabled roofs with crested ridge tiles. Each cottage has an axial chimney stack with a brick shaft. The houses likely have a one- or two-room plan.
The front elevations of numbers 29 and 33 each feature a three-window arrangement. The first-floor middle window of both is currently blocked. Number 31 has a two-window arrangement. Most first-floor windows are 2-light casements with 4 panes per light and margin panes. On the ground floor, number 29 has a 16-pane hornless sash window, while numbers 31 and 33 have casement windows matching the upper style. Simple recessed doorways are present; a porch with Tuscan columns and a latticed cornice over the front arch is attached to number 29, with a tented roof.
