Description
No. 7 is a detached house located on the west side of Fore Street in Silverton, dating from the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of plastered cob with stone footings and features a hipped thatched roof. It has a two-room plan with a pair of entrances at the center of the front and a rear wing that creates an overall L-shaped layout. The house is two stories tall and has a two-window range on the front. The first-floor windows are hornless sashes, with four panes above and eight below. There are two entrances, and a small plate glass shop window, likely from the late 19th century, features a deep wooden fascia above with console brackets, along with a 20th-century casement window on the ground floor. The left end has a sash window similar to those on the front, positioned above a side door. The rear of the house includes 19th-century casement windows. Inside, all details, including the roof construction, are entirely from the 19th century.
