Description
No. 3 Fore Street is a detached house dating from the mid-19th century. It is probably constructed of cob with stone footings, and it has a plastered exterior under a half-hipped slate roof. The house features a double-depth, four-room plan with a central staircase and paired end stacks with brick shafts that heat the four rooms. It is two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with a three-window range. The first floor has 12-pane horned sash windows, and the ground floor windows are similar, with a central porch that has a moulded canopy supported by thin columns with debased Corinthian capitals. The porch also features pilasters, panelled reveals, and a panelled door. To the left, there is a lower extension that is two storeys high and has later casement windows. The entire front of the house has upright bottom supports for creepers.
