Description
Willow Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, located on the east side of Fore Street in Silverton. It is constructed of plastered cob with stone footings and features a hipped thatched roof. The building has a large two-room plan with a through-passage and a rear outshut, and it stands two storeys tall.
The front of the house has a five-window range, with three-light casement windows on the first floor and two three-light and one four-light window on the ground floor. All the windows appear to be contemporary with the house and have three panes per light. There are two doorways on the front.
Inside, there is a simple staircase located in the rear left-hand corner, featuring square newels and a moulded rail. Some fielded panel doors can be found on the first floor, and the house retains a complete 18th-century pegged roof.
