Description

A pair of cottages, likely dating from the late 18th century and certainly built before 1842, are located on High Street, Silverton. The cottages are constructed of roughcast cob with stone footings, and have hipped thatched roofs. They feature a stack at the right-hand end and an axial stack, both with brick shafts. The cottages present a four-window front. The first-floor windows are all of three lights, with old metal casements and eight leaded panes per light, with the side lights fixed. The ground floor has three windows, one of which is a horned sash. There are two doors, each with a simple canopy. Small windows are visible on the left-hand end elevation. The interior features straight roof principals.
