Description
This is a linhay and cartshed built in the mid to late 19th century, located approximately 40 metres northeast of Hayne Barton Farmhouse. The structure is made of cob on stone footings and has a continuous slate roof that is hipped at both ends. It faces the farmyard to the south.
The linhay, which is on the left (west) side, has six bays and features a box-framed front that is weatherboarded on the ground floor, with two large doors. The first floor has open bays. The cartshed, located to the right, includes double doors on the left and a two-light window on the right. Inside, part of the floor is laid, and the hayloft is supported by two massive cross beams, with access provided by a loading hatch in the right end wall.
This building is part of a planned, single-phase farmyard and is included for its group value.
