NEWTON ST CYRES Linhay and Cartshed approx 40 metres north-east of Hayne Barton Farmhouse

Linhay and cartshed. Mid-late C19. Cob on stone footings under continuous slate roof, hipped each end. Faces farmyard to south. 6-bay linhay to left (west) cartshed with hayloft to right. Box-framed linhay front is weatherboarded on ground floor and contains 2 large doors. Open bays to first floor. Cartshed has double doors to left and 2-light window to right. Internally is part-floored with hayloft carried on 2 massive cross beams and saved by loading hatch in right end wall. Component of planned, single-phase farmyard. Included for group value.
