Description

This linhay, located approximately 20 meters east of Lambert Farmhouse, is likely from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of plastered cob on rubble footings on three sides, with an originally open front that has been closed off with 20th-century blockwork and weatherboarding. The linhay features a thatched roof and consists of five bays. Heavy oak crossbeams on the first floor are set into the rear cob wall and supported by granite pillars at the front. Oak posts at the front ends of the beams extend past the hayloft to support the A-frame roof trusses, which have pegged lap-jointed collars. This structure is included for its group value.
