Description
This is a former 16th-century farmhouse, significantly altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The construction combines cob and rubble with plastered walls, brick chimneys projecting above the roofline, and a thatched roof. The house is two storeys high and originally comprised three rooms, plus a through-passage leading to a room on the east side. It faces south, with a large lateral stack positioned behind the hall. Further lateral stacks are located in the gable ends, and the roof is half-hipped. A door is positioned slightly off-centre to the left of the front elevation. The south front features three windows: a small 12-pane sash window in the hall, and larger tripartite sash windows in the outer rooms. Three first-floor casement windows are present, featuring glazing bars and thatch eyebrows above them. Inside the hall, you can find 16th-century chamfered and stepped beams. The roof appears to have been rebuilt in the 18th or 19th century, with the west end rebuilt around 1975 following a collapse.
