Description
Lower Brook Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 16th century. It is constructed of rendered cob and rubble, topped with a dry slate roof that has projecting eaves, replacing the original thatch. The building features brick end stacks and a brick shaft on a large lateral stack at the front. It is thought to have a three-room and cross passage plan, with the lower end on the right rebuilt in stone, probably during the 19th century.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a five-window range. The windows are 19th-century iron casements with small panes, mostly set in wide openings, with an old leaded casement located on the first floor at the far right. There is a doorway to the right of the lateral stack, which has an old planked door beneath an open lean-to porch. The interior has not been inspected.
