Description

Wormsland Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century and was remodeled and extended in the mid-19th century. It features rendered cob and stone rubble walls with dry slate roofs that have projecting eaves. The main roof steps up to the right and there are two brick lateral stacks at the rear, with the left-hand stack having an oven projection.

The farmhouse has a three-room plan, with the higher end rebuilt or remodeled in the 19th century to create a double-depth layout. A pantry lean-to has been added at the rear center, along with a single-storey lean-to on the left-hand end and a two-storey outbuilding added in the mid-19th century at right angles in front on the far left.

The exterior is two storeys high with a two-by-two window arrangement. It features mid-19th century casement windows with glazing bars, including two-light 12-pane windows over 16-pane windows in the projecting two-window range on the left. There is another 12-pane casement above a 6-pane light next to a central doorway with a planked door. The far right of this range has three-light 30-pane windows, with the ground-floor window on the right spanned by a segmental arch. The lean-to on the left has an old casement window and a door at the front.

The left wing has openings on its right-hand wall, including a casement window above a door and another door, both of which are planked. At the rear, there is a segmental arch over a mid-19th century 16-pane two-light casement window located on the first floor to the right of the taller range.

The interior has not been inspected but is likely to retain old features of interest.
