Description
Northlakes is a farmhouse, now a house, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century, with extensions added in the 19th century. The structure is made of plastered cob on rubble footings, featuring a cob or rubble stack topped with 19th-century brick, and has a thatched roof. It consists of a three-room block facing south with a cross passage. There is a projecting gable-end stack in the left (east) room and an axial stack that backs onto the passage. The front has a regular arrangement of four windows, which are mostly 19th and 20th-century casements, many of which have glazing bars. The roof is hipped to the right. Most of the early features inside are hidden or blocked, but the ground floor rooms do have chamfered crossbeams. The roof has not been inspected.
