Description

The bridge near Nether Mill is an accommodation bridge that carries the dismantled Tiverton branch of the Bristol and Exeter Railway across a farm track. This branch was opened in 1848 and was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The bridge is constructed entirely of stone, except for its brick soffit. It features a single round-headed arch, a moulded string course, and moulded coping along the parapet. The bridge is raised on an embankment, although the embankment to the west has been removed.
