Description

Milestone below Knowle Farm, dating from the 18th century, is made of painted sarsen stone. It has a triangular stem that returns to a rectangular base. The painted inscriptions read "TO HUNGERFORD 5" on the left, "TO MARLBORO' 4" on the right, and "A 4 LONDON 70" on the front face. There is a benchmark cut on the right face.
