Description
Lower Horsehall and Hill Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th to 17th century. It is timber framed with brick infill and features a thatched roof. The building is single-storey with an attic, consisting of three bays, and has been extended to the right by one bay, along with a 20th-century lean-to. The layout follows a lobby entry plan, with the entrance located in a thatched enclosed porch to the left of the third bay. The frame has three panels high with corner braces, although most of the intermediate studs have been replaced. The roof is supported by queen struts and clasped purlins. The cottage has various two- and three-light paned and leaded windows. The thatch sweeps over four dormers, with three located at the rear and a hipped section to the right. There is a central stack and an external stack on the left gable, along with a rear outshut.
