Description

LITTLE BEDWYN A4 SU 26 NW (south side) 1/134 Voronzoff Gate II House. 1856. Red and blue patterned brickwork with stone dressings. Diamond slate roof. Two-storey, 2 bays with central hall. Central door within open stone balustraded porch. Left bay projects and is gabled. Ground floor has canted stone bay with lights cusped at top and diamond leaded glazing. Other windows 2- light, also cusped and leaded. Oval windows over porch. Elaborate carved bargeboards to gables of both end bays. Tall brick shafted stacks, linked at heads. Left elevation has 2 half dormers. The building was built commemorating Catherine Woronzow mother of the Marchioness of Ailesbury, who died in 1856.
