Description

Warren Farm's farm buildings were constructed between 1830 and 1840. They are made of brick and feature slate and tiled roofs. The layout is in an 'E' shape, with a parallel dryer and corn store on the north side and cattle stalls surrounding a straw yard at the rear. To the south of the straw yard is a cowshed. Behind the main house, the stock yard includes a long milking parlour on the south side, a four-bay cart shed with a loft above to the west, and a large straw barn attached to it. The central section contains a calf shed and stabling, while the northern section is shorter and includes additional calf penning, creating a narrower yard. The south yard is enclosed by a brick wall on the east side, featuring two single-storey buildings connected by gables that extend toward the house. These buildings house a stockman's room and store, along with a structure now used as a domestic fuel store. On the north side, there is a large two-storey corn store, currently used as a dryer, with 55mm thick walls, segmental-headed windows with key blocks, and wide semicircular arched openings at both ends. A cowhouse located to the northwest has a vented roof, a ventilator above the gable door, and is flanked by glazed oculi. The straw yard to the north of the cowhouse has open-fronted stalling, with stables located in the enclosed south end of the east limb.
