Description
The building is a multi-purpose L-shaped farm range that includes a cow house and stable on the southwest side, and a barn and cart shed at right angles to it, creating a small yard on the east side. The gable ends and the outer wall of the cow house are made of rubble stone, while the rest of the structure is primarily simple box framing with elm weatherboarding on a rubble stone sill. The entire building has a slate roof.
Facing the yard, the cow house features five boarded doors and a loft door. At the left end, there is a stable door with a loft opening above it. The rear of the cow house has three manure-pitching holes with boarded shutters, though the original lintels have been removed. An added outshut is located further to the right. The barn, facing the yard, has full-height boarded doors at the angle with the stable. To the left of these doors is a blockwork outshut with a slate roof, built on the foundation of a 19th-century pigsty.
The left gable end of the barn has a weatherboarded gable over rubble stone walls and a boarded loft door. On the opposite side wall, the barn has replaced full-height double doors, and to the left of these, an original cart shed opening has been infilled with blockwork, as has the outshut at the lower end.
Both the cow house and barn feature roofs supported by tie beams with raking struts. Inside the barn, the threshing bay retains stone flags with oak boards in the center, and the stable retains three wooden stalls.
